There's just simply no substitute for experience. I have been working in the construction industry for well over forty years. During those years I have worked my way from a young and green apprentice, through tradesman, to Foreman, Estimator, and then Superintendent. I have built and remodeled houses, worked as a tradesman, foreman, estimator and superintendent on Heavy Highway projects including the IH-35 Elevated Freeway, Loop 1 Bridges over Town Lake, 26th St Interchange at IH-35, US 183 and Loop 1 Interchange, and later in the Commercial Construction Industry from Convenience Stores to High Rise projects in Austin, Texas, and the surrounding Hill Country. I worked in Houston on several Freeway Projects, and on the LaGrange Power Plant in Fayette County. I worked on other commercial projects in most of the contiguous United States plus Hawaii, and various locations overseas including Puerto Rico, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Kaohsiung, Tiawan.

Now that I've chosen to seek a less strenuous lifestyle, I still have a strong desire to use my skills to help others realize their dreams. A Home Inspector, like a Superintendent or Estimator, should be familiar with all aspects of the project from Ground-breaking to the Owner's Final Acceptance. I look at a project with eyes trained to see detail the average person is unaware of.
